Dobson Propagation Update

Southern Woods has been propagating Dobson this summer, for orders to be delivered winter 2026.

As a reminder, Dobson is a high-anthocyanin selection with high yields and a late Dec/early Jan harvest date (in Irwell).  The plant is moderately vigorous – more vigorous than Blackadder or Lyford but less than Ben Ard.  Its performance was strong enough to justify a fast-track release process, hence the use of a commercial propagator to quickly get enough material for growers to have on-farm evaluation and cutting blocks.

They have made the first round of cuttings in late November and will do a second round soon.
